Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes - recognizes outstanding community service efforts and youth leadership. Twenty-five leaders, ages 8 to 18, will be recognized; 10 winners will receive $2,500 each, which can either go to their service project or the winner's education.

The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program - This program awards up to twelve $2,000 scholarships per AXA adviser branch, meaning there are more than 300 scholarships available to students involved in their communities.

AXA Equitable - sponsors the AXA Achievement Scholarship, in partnership with Scholarship America and in association with U.S. News, awarding a renewable $10,000 scholarship to each state winner with the potential of winning an additional $15,000 in the national competition. The application period is currently closed, but check back next year for more details about this opportunity.

Lowe's Scholarship - Awards 140 scholarships worth $2,500 each to high school seniors who display community involvement and leadership.

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program: Do you live in a community served by Comcast? The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship program awards $1,000 one-time scholarships to students who are involved in their school, serve their communities, and strive to reach their highest potential. Your high school principal or guidance counselor must nominate you for this scholarship, so if you think you deserve a shot, definitely reach out to the appropriate person at your school to make sure they know about the scholarship (and why you deserve it).


Disabled American Veterans Jesse Brown Scholarship: If you're looking for a place to volunteer, visit your local VA Medical Center to learn about all of the opportunities they have available for area high school students. If you volunteer 100 hours over one year, you'll be eligible to apply for the Jesse Brown Scholarship from Disabled American Veterans and could win up to $20,000 toward your education.
