The Environmental Safety and Health Association for High Technology sponsors their annual SESHA Scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in occupational health and safety. This program is, in essence, a scholarship contest. Applicants must submit a technical research poster on health, safety and environmental related topics within the electronics industry. Competition winners will receive a $1000 scholarship to be used at the college or university of their choice.
The 3M Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division offers four annual scholarships for students pursuing graduate studies in occupational health and safety, and industrial hygiene. Awards are determined on the basis of academic achievement. Four $5000 scholarships are awarded every year. Interested students can apply directly through 3M’s website.
The American Society of Safety Engineers sponsors a number of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in occupational health and safety. Every year the ASSE awards more than 70 scholarships, ranging from $1000 to $5,500. Each ASSE scholarship addresses a different area of occupational health and safety, and awards are given to students with specific educational and career paths. All awards are determined solely on the basis of academic merit.
The Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association offers an annual scholarship to encourage students to pursue degrees and careers in environmental and occupational health, safety, and related disciplines. The program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled for at least 12 credit hours at an accredited college or university. The annual award amount is $2000.
The Joseph A. Holmes Safety Association sponsors an annual scholarship for students pursuing degrees and careers in health and safety as they pertain to the mining industry. Scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate studies. Applicants must submit school transcripts, a 500 word essay, and a history of their extracurricular activities. Award amounts vary, and are determined by course of study and availability of funds.
