DirectTextbook.com Haiku Scholarship Contest - Amount: $500 - Description: Contest is open to high school graduates who are legal residents of the United States and currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year college or university for Fall 2018. Applicant must submit an original haiku poem that captures the essence of what the word “Flourish” means to them.

Scholarship Poetry Contest - Amount: Up to $500 - Description: Scholarship is open to all U.S. high school students. Applicant must submit an original poem with 20 lines or less.

O Captain, My Captain Scholarship Slam - Amount: $1,000 - Description: Scholarship is open to current and former high school students who are under the age of 25. and will be attending a college in the U.S. Applicant must submit a poem on, “Who or what has had the greatest influence/impact on your life.”

National Poetry Competition - Description: Competition is open to anyone aged 17 or over at the time of entering. International entries are welcome. Applicant must submit a previously unpublished single poem.

Young Writers Awards - Amount: Up to $500 - Description: Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades can enter in one of the following categories: poetry (a group of three poems), fiction (a short story or one-act play), or nonfiction (a personal or academic essay. All entries must be original work and sponsored by a high school teacher).

Poetry Card Contest - Amount: Up to $350 - Description: Contestant must submit an original poem.
