Anne Trabue Scholarship Fund - Established by the Women’s Southern California Gold Association (WSCGA) in honor of its founding mother and first president, the Anne Trabue Scholarship Fund is awarded annually to female graduating high school seniors and full-time undergraduate students at any accredited U.S. institution with a major in English or journalism. Qualified applicants must play golf, be Southern California residents, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and submit an essay on relevant career interests.

Colorado Springs Press Association Scholarship - Created through contributions and fundraising conducted by the Colorado Springs Press Association (CSPA), this $1,000 scholarship is provided annually to a deserving sophomore or junior-level student who is actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in English, journalism, or speech communication. Qualified candidates must be enrolled full-time at any accredited higher education institution in Colorado, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 or higher, and demonstrate promise as a budding journalist for the Pikes Peak region.

Hope College Distinguished Artist Awards in Creative Writing - Annually, Hope College presents a maximum of six Distinguished Artist Awards (DAA) in Creative Writing for $2,500 each to students with strong academic records, outstanding creative abilities, and a major in creative writing or English. For consideration, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled full-time with at least one creative writing course per academic year. Eligible candidates should submit an application, writing sample, 500-word essay, and a letter of recommendation.

Reader’s Digest Foundation Scholarship - Established by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the Reader’s Digest Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually for up to $5,000 to encourage academically superior students with outstanding writing abilities to enter the field of print journalism. Eligible candidates must be attending UNCF-member U.S. institutions full-time, have declared a major in journalism or English, have achieved junior or senior-level status, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and submit at least one published writing sample.

South Carolina Press Association Scholarships - With the goal of encouraging talented young individuals to enter the print or digital newspaper industry, the South Carolina Press Association offers three annual scholarships for $3,500 each to enrolled full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are attending any accredited institution in South Carolina with a major in journalism, English, visual communications, or news media. Selection is based on academic performance, journalistic abilities, financial need, and promise in the newspaper industry.
