Samuel H. Kress Foundation- This fellowship was established to encourage students to explore interpretive careers in art museums, whether as future museum educators or curators. It also aims to strengthen the profession of museum educator within the art museum community and strengthen ties between museum educators and curators in the shared task of interpretive programming in art museums. This fellowship will help expand the range of promising career options available to students of art history and related fields. Eligible applicants are individuals who have completed a degree (B.A., M.A., or Ph.D.) in art history, art education, studio art, or museum studies. Application for this fellowship must be made by the art museum proposing to host a Kress Interpretive Fellow.
Hench Post-Dissertation Fellowship. The scholarship is provided to scholars who are no more than three years beyond receipt of the doctorate. The program aims to provide the recipient with time and resources to extend research and/or to revise the dissertation for publication. The awardee will receive a $35,000 twelve-month stipend.
American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) - This fellowship was established to benefit graduate students at any stage of PhD dissertation research or writing. Students must have a dissertation focused on a topic in the history of the visual arts of the United States and project should be focused foremost on the art object and/or image and employ an art-historical or visual studies approach. The fellowships may be carried out in residence at the fellow's home institution, abroad, or at another appropriate site for the research.
John and Reiko Kuga Phillip Scholarship - Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation - The John and Reiko Kuga Phillip Scholarship is awarded to a graduate of public high school from Hawai`i island. Applicants must be pursuing major in art history, ceramics, drawing and painting, electronic arts, fiber, glass, graphic design, photography, printmaking, sculpture.
