The Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship is not specifically for students who are HIV positive. Rather, it is for college students making a concerted effort to improve the lives of people with HIV and fighting to end the HIV epidemic. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors up to age 27 can apply.
Helen Veress-Mitchell Scholarship. The program is designed to help students with HIV pursue their post-secondary education at a community college, technical school or four year university. The CCAF is a non-profit organization, and the scholarship is entirely dependent on private donations. Award amounts vary according to the availability of funds.
The Robert Westwood Scholarship is open to all students with HIV who are enrolled at San Francisco State University. Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time, and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The maximum annual award is $2400.
The Janis Morrow Scholarship is administered by P KIDS Online. The program offers financial assistance to students with chronic infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, who may not otherwise be able to afford to complete their education. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation, a letter of acceptance from their college or university, and a physicians report detailing their chronic condition. Award amounts vary, and are determined on the basis of financial need.
The Harold A. McIntosh Scholarship for Students Living with HIV/AIDS is supported by the Ohio State University GLBT Alumni Society. A one time award of $1500 is offered to HIV positive students enrolled at Ohio State University on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
